The recent announcement that Roger Ebert had ended his association with “At the Movies” — as well as Richard Roeper — repped the end of an era. Ebert still promises to find a new home for the famous thumbs (a trademark he owns with Gene Siskel’s widow), but it’s clear that the glory days of Siskel & Ebert are long over.
